Nana Buruku

In 2022 I created the face Of Nana Buruku for Tony Mason's puppet. I enjoyed making a very old, slightly fierce face and adding string to define and illustrate the landscape of the face. It is sculpted in clay, cast in plaster and made in fibreglass resin with a surface decoration of string and acrylic paint.   Nana Buruku is the mother supreme creator who gave birth to the universe in West African theology. First performed at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
